The Wavest web app uses Google Sign-In for authentication. When you sign in:
- We collect your email, display name, and profile photo from your Google account
- This information is stored securely in our database
- We use this data to provide personalized features like bookmarks and daily briefings
- You can sign out at any time to revoke access
11. Bookmarks & Interaction Tracking (Web App)
When you use the web app:
- Bookmarks: Articles you bookmark are stored in our database associated with your account
- Reading History: We track which articles you click on to improve personalization
- Preferences: We store your category and source preferences based on your interactions
- This data is used solely to personalize your news feed and is not shared with third parties
12. Daily Briefing & Audio Caching (Web App)
The daily briefing feature:
- Generates personalized audio summaries of top news stories
- Audio files are cached on our servers and in your browser for 24 hours
- Transcripts are stored to allow you to read along with the audio
- We use Google Cloud Text-to-Speech and Gemini AI to generate briefings
- Cached data is automatically deleted after 24 hours
